Ipsy | January 2018

To start the new year off right this month’s theme is “Game Face”, motivation to accomplish your 2018 goals. I like this theme, although kind of cliche, since it is the start of the new year when everyone is creating “New Year Resolutions”.

The Bag…I have mixed emotions about it. I think it’s great and creative to make the bag out of sneaker material, especially because the number one resolution people make is to work out, or eat healthy or lose weight. I do like the colors, they’re nice and bright! However, I’m not sure I would reuse it as make-up bag.

Mary-Lou Manizer Highligher by the Balm

I have a full size of this highlighter. I love it! It seriously is one of the best highlighters in the game. If you don’t have this in your makeup collection, you should.

Z-Tweeze Dual Ended Tweezers by F.A.R.A.H Brushes

I’ve never seen dual ended tweezers, so I was very intrigued when I first saw these. I’m not sure how much I can review a pair of tweezers, but they work well! They are sharp and grab on to the hair easily!

Seraphine Botanicals Raisin + Cream Long-Lasting Lip Stain

I’ve never heard of this brand before, but in the description on my Ipsy page it says this brand is vegan, cruelty-free and hypoallergenic. I love that it is all three of those things! It is a pretty color, however, it has a grape scent to it, which I’m not sure how I feel about. After I swatched it, it wiped off with a tissue, so it is not kiss proof!

LUÉ by Jean Seo Balance Hydrating and Calming Serum

I’m excited to use this product this winter. It’ll be great to use at night to let it soak into your skin while you sleep. It does feel quite wet when applying. I’ve never heard of this brand either, so I’m not sure exactly how well it’ll work. It might show up in a future post!

Trust Fund Beauty Lip Scrub

I like the idea of this. However, I cannot stand the scent of this. It smells like the fake makeup I used to play with when I was little. You would think it would bring back good memories of my childhood, but I guess I didn’t like the scent of that back then either! I’m not sure I can get past this smell. It might not bother other people, it is a fruity smell, but I just don’t like it.

Overall, I give it a 3 out of 5 stars. It’s not the best bag, but not the worst either.

What did you get in your January Ipsy bag?
